研究目的
To investigate the optical characteristics of solid-core microstructured optical fibers composed of polymers (SC-MPOFs) by using a theoretical model.
研究成果
The theoretical model provides a fast and relatively simple means to evaluate the effective index for the guided core modes of hexagonal lattice design solid-core air/polymer MOFs. It can be employed as a tool by fiber manufacturers for improving coupling to free-space or guided input/output connecting sections by optimizing the mode profile through manipulation of the structural parameters of the cladding.
研究不足
The study is theoretical and relies on modeling, which may not capture all practical aspects of fiber fabrication and performance. Experimental validation is suggested to confirm the theoretical findings.
