研究目的
Investigating the crystallization processes of quartz in a granitic magma through cathodoluminescence zonation patterns controlled by temperature and titanium diffusivity.
研究成果
The study provides new insights into the sequential growth events of quartz crystals within a granitic magma and the cooling process of the granitic magma from intrusion/emplacement to solidification. The magmatic quartz crystals from the Toki granite are characterized by internal structures that depend on temperature conditions and titanium diffusivity in the melt. The crystallization process of quartz within the Toki granite reveals the cooling processes of the granitic pluton.
研究不足
The study is limited by the sectioning effect during the preparation of thin sections, which may complicate the discussion of quartz growth. Additionally, the determination of crystallization temperatures for quartz grains with specific CL patterns requires the activity of TiO2 to be defined as 1, which may not always be the case.
