The central regions of the galaxies are dominated by populations with ages ~1.5–3 Gyr, indicating that they are not dominated by old populations. The disks are dominated by populations that are at least 1 Gyr older than those near the centers, suggesting that the quenching of star formation progressed from large radii inwards. The metallicities of the galaxies are consistent with their integrated brightnesses, indicating no large-scale stellar stripping. The progenitors of these galaxies were likely late-type systems accreted by Virgo during intermediate or early epochs.

The study is limited by the spectral resolution and wavelength coverage of the GMOS spectra. The interpretation of spectral features may be complicated by the presence of dust and line emission. The sample size is small, consisting of only six galaxies.

Spectra were recorded with two wavelengths at the center of the detector array to fill gaps between CCDs. The detectors were binned 2×2 during readout. Sky subtraction was facilitated by nodding the galaxies between two locations on the slit.
