研究目的
To statistically compare intraocular pressure (IOP) values measured using noncontact tonometer (NCT), Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAT) with fluorescein (fGAT), and GAT without fluorescein (nGAT), and to test whether the values obtained using each technique change in accordance with the central corneal thickness (CCT) and refractive and keratometric values.
研究成果
Differences in the measurements obtained using nGAT and fGAT were insignificant. Both values were positively correlated with NCT measurements and were independent of CCT, keratometry, and refraction values. nGAT appears to be suitable for use in routine clinic practice.
研究不足
The study did not evaluate corneal hysteresis or rigidity, and there was no wide corneal thickness distribution in the participants. Data on the presence of glaucoma, ocular hypertension, and borderline cases were not obtained.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
Prospective study involving 188 eyes of 94 healthy volunteers. IOP was measured using fGAT, nGAT, and NCT. CCT, refractive values, and keratometric values were measured.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Healthy individuals aged between 18 and 60 years without corneal disease, eye surgery, ocular trauma, inflammatory eye disease, systematic disease, inability to maintain fixation, or astigmatism of 3 dioptres and above.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Table-top auto-refractometer (Topcon TRK 1 P), GAT (Inami L-5110 Mark), fluorescein strip (Haag-Streit International Con., Ltd), Alcaine? (proparacaine hydrochloride 0.5% drop).
4:5% drop).
Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
4. Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow: IOP was measured with NCT, followed by nGAT and fGAT after a 20-minute rest period. CCT, refractive values, and keratometric values were measured.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Kolmogorov–Smirnov test for distribution of variables, Wilcoxon test for dependent quantitative data, Spearman correlation analysis.
