研究目的
Exploring the changing behavior and adjustment method of the refractive index in solid media, focusing on the influence of the Nephelauxetic Effect, chemical bond properties, and molecular density.
研究成果
The outermost electrons have major contribution to refraction power of the molecule. The Nephelauxetic Effect should be common in covalent bonds or ionic bonds. Characteristics of the solid medium that has a high refractive index include: (1) The number of covalent bonds in the molecule is large, and the covalent bond component is high. (2) The periodic number is as larger as possible without increasing the ionic bond component. (3) The molecular density is high. Composition of the medium can be adjusted according to these characteristics to achieve the purpose of increasing or decreasing the refractive index.
研究不足
The study does not consider the electromagnetic wave factor's influence on the refractive index. It also relies on theoretical models and existing data, which may not cover all possible solid media or conditions.
