研究目的
To establish a national mapping to identify the physical, chemical, and mineralogical composition of soils accumulated on the PV modules at the level of Morocco.
研究成果
The analyses revealed variability in the physical, chemical, and mineralogical composition of dust deposited on PV modules across different climatic sites in Morocco. Abundant elements include silicon, calcium, aluminum, and iron, with minerals such as quartz, calcite, kaolinite, and dolomite present in varying percentages. This preliminary work provides a foundation for future research and the development of a national database to study interactions between soiling and PV module performance.
研究不足
Only four samples have been analyzed so far, which is insufficient for a comprehensive national mapping. The study is preliminary and requires more samples from additional sites to cover all climatic zones of Morocco. The methods used may have limitations in detecting trace elements or very fine compositional details.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study adopted climatic zoning using the De Martonne index to select representative sites in Morocco. Samples were collected from PV modules using two methods: direct removal of dust or using water and a squeegee. Samples were prepared by crushing with a porcelain mortar and pestle, sieved to less than 2 mm, and analyzed using XRD, XF, DSC, and IR techniques to determine physical, chemical, and mineralogical composition.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Four samples were collected from Rabat, Errachidia, Agadir, and Oujda, representing different climatic zones (humid/sub-humid, semi-arid, arid, hyper-arid).
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Porcelain mortar and pestle, stainless steel sieve, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) equipment, X-Ray Fluorescence (XF) equipment, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) equipment, Infrared Spectroscopy (IR) equipment, petri dishes, squeegee, water.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Samples were collected, dried if necessary, crushed, sieved, and analyzed with XRD, XF, DSC, and IR. Data were interpreted using ASTM files and standard analytical methods.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
XRD and XF for mineralogical and elemental composition, DSC for thermal behavior, IR for chemical bonds. Percentages of components were calculated based on analysis results.
