High AgNP loading enabled percolation for conductive paths, making the composites suitable for applications as conductors.

1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study involved preparing TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibers (TOCNs) from kenaf bast fibers, synthesizing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in TOCN aqueous dispersion via chelation and reduction, and fabricating nanocomposite sheets through filtration and drying. Methods included AFM for nanoparticle size measurement, XRD for crystallinity analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, tensile testing, thermal analysis (TGA, DSC), and measurements of electrical and thermal conductivities.

4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Purification of kenaf fibers involved degreasing, Wise treatment for lignin removal, and alkaline treatment for hemicellulose removal. TEMPO oxidation was performed to introduce carboxyl groups, followed by fibrillation. AgNPs were synthesized by adding silver nitrate to TOCN dispersion, stirring for ion exchange, reducing with sodium borohydride, and stirring under darkness. Nanocomposite sheets were made by filtering suspensions and drying under vacuum. Characterizations included AFM imaging, XRD, FT-IR, tensile tests, thermal analyses, and conductivity measurements.

Data were analyzed using Scherrer's equation for crystallite size, Gibbs-Thomson equation for nanoparticle size, Maxwell equation for thermal conductivity predictions, and standard statistical methods for mechanical and thermal properties.
