研究目的
Investigating the role of annealing temperature on the wettability and photocatalytic efficiency of heterostructure ZnO-SnO2 composite films for the degradation of organic pollutants.
研究成果
Annealing temperature significantly enhances surface roughness, wettability, and photocatalytic efficiency of ZnO-SnO2 films due to improved crystallinity and heterostructure formation, leading to better charge separation and pollutant degradation. Higher temperatures result in superhydrophobicity after modification and superior photocatalytic performance, suggesting potential for industrial wastewater treatment.
研究不足
The study is limited to specific annealing temperatures and pollutants; scalability and real-world application conditions were not addressed. Optimization of sol-gel parameters and long-term stability were not explored.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
The study used a sol-gel method to synthesize ZnO-SnO2 composite films, with annealing at different temperatures (300°C, 400°C, 500°C) to investigate their properties. Theoretical models included Wenzel's equation for wettability and Langmuir-Hinshelwood kinetics for photocatalytic degradation.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
Films were prepared on borosilicate glass substrates. Pollutants included methylene blue (cationic dye), methyl orange (anionic dye) in liquid phase, and octadecanoic acid in solid phase.
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
Instruments included X-ray diffractometer (Rigaku Ultima IV), FT-IR spectrometer (Agilent Cary 630), contact angle meter (DMs-401, Kyowa Interface Science), FESEM (JSM-7600F), AFM (NT-MDT NTEGRA Vita), 3D-optical surface profiler (Bruker Contour GT), UV-Vis spectrometer (Agilent Cary 60), and UV lamp (Philips UV-C germicidal lamp). Materials included tin chloride, ethanol, polyethylene glycol, zinc acetate dehydrate, 2-methoxyethanol, monoethanolamine, borosilicate glass, methylene blue, methyl orange, octadecanoic acid.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
Sols were prepared, aged, mixed, spin-coated on glass, annealed, and characterized. Wettability was assessed by sessile drop method. Photocatalytic tests involved exposing films to UV light with pollutants and measuring degradation over time.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
Data were analyzed using XRD for crystallinity, FESEM and AFM for morphology and roughness, FT-IR for chemical groups, UV-Vis for absorbance changes, and kinetic models for degradation rates.
