  • Single-Step Synthesis and Optical Properties of Bimetallic Fe–Ag Nanoparticles

    摘要: Bimetallic nanoparticles containing ferromagnetic iron (Fe) and plasmonic silver (Ag) are synthesized by one-step chemical reduction process. Structural and optical properties of nanoparticles are studied by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction technique, UV-Visible spectroscopy and photoluminescence measurement. Tunable optical properties with the variation of Ag percentage in the Fe–Ag nanoparticles are observed. Sharp absorption peak due to localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) is observed in the visible spectrum range for Fe–Ag nanoparticles which is absent in Fe nanoparticles. LSPR peak shows redshift due to variation in shape and size of the nanoparticles having higher Ag content. Enhanced photoluminescence in the bimetallic nanoparticles is attributed to the observed surface plasmon resonance.

  • Novel Cyanoarylporphyrazines with Triazole Groups at the Macrocycle Periphery as Potential Sensibilizers of Photodynamic Therapy and Optical Probes of Intracellular Viscosity

    摘要: Novel fluorescent dyes of the cyanoarylporphyrazine series containing peripheral triazole groups have been synthesized. Their photophysical properties and the local viscosity effect on the fluorescence have been studied. The experiments with cell cultures have revealed rapid accumulation of the dyes in the cells cytoplasm. Photo- and dark cytotoxicity of the compounds have been evaluated by means of the MTT test.

  • Microwave Hydrothermal Synthesis of In <sub/>2</sub> O <sub/>3</sub> -ZnO Nanocomposites and Their Enhanced Photoelectrochemical Properties

    摘要: Indium oxide (In2O3) doped zinc oxide (ZnO) nanocomposites were successfully synthesized through a facile microwave hydrothermal method. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms (BET) and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The morphology of In2O3-ZnO composites was observed to be like flowers, and the diameter of particles constituting the porous petal was about 30 nm. The photoelectrocatalytic test results showed that the photoelectrocatalytic methylene blue (MB) degradation efficiency using In2O3-ZnO nanocomposites as photocatalysts under visible light irradiation and a certain voltage could reached above 95.3% after 60 min, much higher than that of In2O3 particles and ZnO particles. The enhanced photoelectrocatalytic activity was attributed to the doping of In2O3 and applied voltage, which beneficially reduced the recombination of electrons and holes in the photoelectrocatalytic process, therefore, it promoted the production of active species (?OH and ?O2-).

  • Synthesis of oxygen deficient bismuth oxide photocatalyst for improved photoelectrochemical applications

    摘要: The present paper reports the effect of nitrogen modification on photoelectrochemical (PEC) water oxidation behavior of Bi2O3 semiconductor thin film. The semiconductor particles were synthesized via hydrothermal route using Bi(NO3)3 as a Bi3+ ion precursor and urea as the nitrogen source followed by drop-cast the particles and annealing the film at 600oC. The synthesized Bi2O3 exhibited band gap energy of 3.01 eV, calculated from the UV-vis absorption spectrum which decreases to 2.75eV through N-modification. Water oxidation behavior of the material has been tested through linear sweep voltammetry under periodic illumination. Highest photo-current of 180 μAcm-2 has been measured for water oxidation reaction at 0.95V vs. Ag/AgCl, under illumination of 35mWcm-2. N-incorporation can enhance the photocurrent up to 50% whereas the visible responsiveness of the material improves significantly as confirmed from electrochemical action spectra and UV-visible absorption spectra. The photocatalytic activity of the semiconductor particles was confirmed through decoloration of Rhodamine-B dye, by spectrophotometric measurements.

  • A unique (4,4,5)-connected 3D zinc (II) metal-organic framework for highly efficient photodegradation of Rhodamine B under UV light

    摘要: A new zinc (II) metal-organic framework, [Zn3(L)2(nbta)2]n (1) (L = 1,4-bis(benzimidazol-1-yl)-2-butene, H3nbta = 5-nitro-1,2,3-benzenetricarboxylic acid) was hydrothermally synthesized and structural characterized. 1 possesses a unique 3D (4,4,5)-connected network with a Schl?fla symbol of {42.63.8}2{44.62}{47.63}2. Furthermore, the photocatalytic property of 1 for degradation of the Rhodamine B (RhB) was examined under UV irradiation.

  • From Aggregates to Porous Three-Dimensional Scaffolds through a Mechanochemical Approach to Design Photosensitive Chitosan Derivatives

    摘要: The crustacean processing industry produces large quantities of waste by-products (up to 70%). Such wastes could be used as raw materials for producing chitosan, a polysaccharide with a unique set of biochemical properties. However, the preparation methods and the long-term stability of chitosan-based products limit their application in biomedicine. In this study, different scale structures, such as aggregates, photo-crosslinked films, and 3D scaffolds based on mechanochemically-modified chitosan derivatives, were successfully formed. Dynamic light scattering revealed that aggregation of chitosan derivatives becomes more pronounced with an increase in the number of hydrophobic substituents. Although the results of the mechanical testing revealed that the plasticity of photo-crosslinked films was 5–8% higher than that for the initial chitosan films, their tensile strength remained unchanged. Different types of polymer scaffolds, such as flexible and porous ones, were developed by laser stereolithography. In vivo studies of the formed structures showed no dystrophic and necrobiotic changes, which proves their biocompatibility. Moreover, the wavelet analysis was used to show that the areas of chitosan film degradation were periodic. Comparing the results of the wavelet analysis and X-ray diffraction data, we have concluded that degradation occurs within less ordered amorphous regions in the polymer bulk.

  • Effect of NaN<sub>3</sub> Addition Content on NaCl-NaF Medium Nitridation Synthesis β-Sialon Powders

    摘要: β-Sialon powders were synthesized via salt-assisted nitridation synthesis from Al, Si, SiO2 powders and molten salt medium (NaCl and NaF) with the addition of different content of NaN3 at different temperature for 3 h. NaN3 were employed as auxiliary nitrogen source which effectively provide sufficient nitrogen. The results indicated that the growth of β-Sialon powders had better effect when the NaN3 was added. And the β-Sialon powders grew more completely and the morphology of β-Sialon powders showed the rod-like crystal with hexagonal smooth tips instead of conical tips. In addition, the products displayed different sizes when the content of NaN3 was changed. These results of this work suggested that β-Sialon could be synthesized with specific morphology by adding different content of NaN3.

  • Ellipsometric Analysis of Aligned Carbon Nanotubes for Designing Catalytic Support Systems

    摘要: Vertically aligned CNT carpets combined with inorganic semiconductors are expected good prospect in practical applications, especially in photocatalysis. If these devices are in production, a fast and non-invasive characterization method will be required. Ellipsometry is widely used in industry as an in-line monitoring tool, so in this study the applicability of ellipsometry for characterizing CNT carpets is investigated. It is shown that ellipsometric evaluation can provide information about the density and the optical properties of the nanotubes; however, the properties of the individual nanotubes (diameter, wall number) can not be taken into account during ellipsometric modeling. To overcome these limitations, numerical simulations are also presented.

  • Facile Sol-gel Synthesis of Metaloxide Nanoparticles in a Cellulose Paper Template

    摘要: Ensembles of free standing particles of titanium, zinc, copper and iron oxides of 6-109 nm in size were sol-gel synthesized with a use of a cellulose paper as a template. The calcination time as short as 60 min at 550°C in air was found to be sufficient for the formation of crystalline single phase TiO2 or ZnO nanoparticles, Cu2O+CuO or Fe2O3+Fe3O4 nanocomposites and to burn out the organic components. The impurities initially present in the cellulose (Сa, Na, Cl) were detected in the synthesized compounds.

  • A High-Level Synthesis Implementation and Evaluation of an Image Processing Accelerator

    摘要: Most frequently, an FPGA is used as an implementation platform in applications of graphics processing, as its structure can effectively exploit both spatial and temporal parallelism. Such parallelization techniques involve fundamental restrictions, namely being their dependence on both the processing model and the system’s hardware constraints, that can force the designer to restructure the architecture and the implementation. Predesigned accelerators can significantly assist the designer to solve this problem and meet his deadlines. In this paper, we present our accelerators for Grayscale and Sobel Edge Detection, two of the most fundamental algorithms used in digital image processing projects. We have implemented those algorithms with a “bare-metal” VHDL design, written purely by hand, as a portable USB accelerator device, as well as an HLS-based overlay of a similar implementation designed to be used by a Python interface. The comparisons of the two architectures showcase that the HLS generated design can perform equally to or even better than the handwritten HDL equivalent, especially when the correct compiler directives are provided.
