1:Experimental Design and Method Selection
The study involved processing AlSi10Mg alloy by selective laser melting (SLM) using both hot- and cold-build platforms to investigate the effects of pre-heating and post-process thermal treatments on microstructure and mechanical properties.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources
Samples were produced using an EOS M290 SLM system with gas-atomized AlSi10Mg powders. Two sets of samples were prepared: one on a preheated build platform at 160°C (HP) and another without preheating (CP).

Microstructural analyses, DSC, high-resolution XRD, tensile tests were conducted to evaluate the effects of different thermal treatments on the alloy's properties.
