研究目的
To review the synthesis, luminescence properties, and applications of near-infrared emitting quantum dots (QDs), including their use in telecommunication, bio-imaging, light-emitting diodes (LEDs), luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs), doped glasses/fibers, and optical sensing.
研究成果
NIR luminescent QDs have shown great potential in various applications due to their excellent optical properties. However, the toxicity of some QDs and the need for improved stability and PL QY are significant challenges. Emerging low-toxicity QDs like I–VI, III–V, and I–III–IV ternary QDs are promising alternatives.
研究不足
The review highlights the toxicity of certain QDs containing Cd, Pb, and Hg, which limits their application prospects, especially in biomedical fields. It also mentions the challenges in achieving high photoluminescence quantum yield (PL QY) and stability for some QDs.
