研究目的
Investigating the effect of Ag incorporation on the structural, morphological, and opto-electric properties of CdO thin films prepared by chemical spray pyrolysis method.
研究成果
The study concludes that Ag incorporation affects the structural, optical, and electrical properties of CdO thin films. The metal-like behavior of CdO thin film was removed by Ag incorporation, and the n-type carrier concentration was reduced. The films show potential for opto-electronic applications.
研究不足
The study is limited to the effects of Ag incorporation on CdO thin films prepared by chemical spray pyrolysis method. The findings are based on the specific experimental conditions and may not be generalizable to other preparation methods or doping elements.
1:Experimental Design and Method Selection:
CdO and Ag-incorporated CdO thin films were deposited on glass substrate by spray pyrolysis technique at 350 °C in an ambient atmosphere. The films were prepared from aqueous cadmium acetate and silver nitrate solutions.
2:Sample Selection and Data Sources:
The study involved CdO and Ag-CdO thin films with different concentrations of Ag (1, 2, 3, and 4 mol%).
3:List of Experimental Equipment and Materials:
X-ray diffractometer (X’-Pert Phillips, Japan), atomic force microscopy (AFM-Model: XE70 PARK SYSTEMS), UV spectrophotometer (UV-1601PC SHIJMADZU SPECTROPHOTOMETER), and van der Pauw’s method for Hall-voltage and electrical resistance measurements.
4:Experimental Procedures and Operational Workflow:
The XRD study was performed within Bragg angle 20° ≤ 2θ ≤ 80° using CuKα radiation. AFM was used in non-contact mode. Optical transmission spectra were taken for the wavelength range (380–1000) nm.
5:Data Analysis Methods:
The crystallite size was estimated by Scherer’s formula. Optical band gap, Urbach energy, refractive index, optical conductivity, and nonlinear optical susceptibility were calculated using specific relations.
